1. GET LICENSED
- BC has no provincial college for MRTs at present, but health authorities expect national certification.
- Apply to CAMRT for an assessment of your international education, then pass the CAMRT exam for your discipline.
- Radiation therapists will become regulated by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC on November 29, 2027.
2. IMMIGRATION ROUTE
- BC Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) Health Authority stream: for candidates with a job offer from a BC public health authority.
- Once a health authority hires you, the nomination is usually straightforward.
3. PAY
Pay is set by the Health Science Professionals Bargaining Association collective agreement; competitive but generally a little lower than Alberta after cost of living.
4. COST OF LIVING
Costs vary sharply by region. Prince George and the North offer the best income-to-cost ratio; Metro Vancouver offers a coastal lifestyle with high housing costs.
This guide is general information, not immigration or legal advice. Programs, fees and rules change often. Always confirm with the regulator and the official immigration program before you apply, or speak with a licensed immigration consultant (RCIC).
